'It's terrifying': Katie Price's fears over kidnap plot after her pink Range Rover is bugged

By Daily Mail Reporter

Kidnap terror: A tracking device was found under Katie Price's pink Range Rover, causing concerns for her safety following previous kidnap threats

It's not been the best year for former girl of the moment Katie Price, and now it seems the newly single star's year has got a lot worse.

The glamour model has been left fearing for her life after a tracking device was discovered under her car during a routine MOT check at a mechanics, causing fears of another kidnap plot surrounding the model.

She wrote on Twitter on Tuesday night: 'I can't believe what has been found under my car!!!! Another police situation.'

The discovery of the device caused extra concern as Price was targeted with a kidnap threat less than a year ago, as well as once before in 2009.

It marks the end of a terrible 2011 for the business woman.

The year started with her split from husband Alex Reid in January and now she's nursing a broken heart again after splitting from new love Leandro Penna last month.

She was also victim of a bank fraud earlier this year, which saw the star fleeced out of £25,000, while she was also involved in a near fatal car crash with Penna in his native Argentina shortly after the pair started dating in April.

How they were: Katie's split from Argentinian Leandro Penna last month has capped off a terrible year for the star

And now Price is down on her luck once again.

The model, also known as Jordan, told the Daily Mirror on Wednesday night: 'The garage had my car on a ramp during a routine MOT and spotted this tracker.

'The car was last serviced on August 16, so I know someone's been snooping around my property and shoved it on between then and now.

'Because I had a kidnap threat at the beginning of the year, we're wondering if it could be related.

'Basically it meant whoever planted it knew exactly where I was at all times and could then follow me, possibly with a view to kidnapping me. It's terrifying.

'Luckily the device had a security number, so the police are looking into that to see where it was bought and, hopefully, find out who's responsible. After the year I've had, this is just what I need...'

Police officers were originally probing whether Price had been targeted by the same gang of burglars who held footballer Steven Gerrard's wife Alex at knife-point.

Plot: The reality TV star and her management team took to Twitter to reveal about the kidnap scare

The glamour star's representatives at Black Sheep Management added on Twitter: 'It is correct that a device was found under Kate's car. It was removed and passed to her lawyers who are in touch with police.

'The device was not designed to cause direct harm but the purpose for which it was attached is being investigated.'

The news comes as Katie's ex-husband Peter Andre is preparing to re-enter the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! jungle, eight years after the pair met while contestants on the show.

The Australian singer, who has two children with Price, has already flown into Brisbane airport ready to sit on the panel of the ITV2 spin-off show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Now!

And Andre's hinted he may even join the other stars in the camp.

He says: 'I’m on the ITV2 panel for three days, but I’m here for four days.

'They are not telling me what’s happening on the other day. They’ve blocked one day out and they’ve told me, "You’ll see what happens." I don’t know what they’re doing. Am I going in?'
