Finally stepping out together! Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz make their red carpet debut as a married couple

By Holly Thomas

Can't take their eyes off each other: Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz looked smitten as they made their red carpet debut as a married couple for the The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Premiere in Madrid, Spain

They took fans by surprise with their whirlwind wedding last year.

But it looks like Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz's romance is taking a more public turn these days.

The pair looked gorgeous together as they made their red carpet debut at the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo premiere in Madrid, Spain.

Effortless style: Rachel showed off her tiny waist in a fitted black dress, while Daniel looked sophisticated in his pale brown suit

Rachel looked stunning in a fitted black dress which flared below the knee to a gorgeous mermaid's tail.

The 41-year-old drew attention to her tiny waist with a brown leather belt, while wide capped shoulders gave her outfit additional structure.

Daniel looked sophisticate in a pale brown suit and pale slate blue shirt.

Beaming with pride: Though they have shunned the public eye as a couple so far, the pair couldn't have looked happier

The Casino Royal star added a dapper touch with a red handkerchief in his jacket pocket, and was clearly bursting with pride as he held an arm around his wife's waist.

The couple have been very private about their romance until now, shunning appearances together and keeping a reserved approach to discussing the relationship in interviews.

They married in a low key New York ceremony in June, after becoming close while working together on Dream House.

Low profile: Daniel and Rachel were careful not to draw attention along with director David Fincher as they boarding a private jet in Paris earlier this week

Rachel was engaged to director Darren Aronofsky at the time, and Daniel was likewise engaged to producer Satsuki Mitchell, with whom he had a six year relationship.

Daniel had two inkings to commemorate his wedding to Rachel.

He told GQ magazine during a recent interview: ‘They’re two very personal tattoos.’

‘They’re just part of a stage I’m in. You should see the rest of my body. Then you’d be intrigued. Oh boy. It’s been a very complicated couple of years.’

Meanwhile it looks likely that The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo will receive a sequel, as it slowly edges towards recouping its $90 million budget.

A Sony representative told Entertainment Weekly that development for The Girl Who Played With Fire is still moving forward, despite the current Daniel Craig led entry in the series underperforming.

The rep said: '[Dragon Tattoo] continues to do strong business and nothing has changed with respect to development of the next book.'

MOVIE REVIEW: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

The Other Half and I saw David Fincher's follow-up to his Oscar-winning The Social Network, the English-language film adaptation of the blockbuster thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The books written by Swede Stieg Larsson have sold over 65 million, with this first entry in the Millenium trilogy having individually sold over 30 million copies itself.

Fincher's movie stars Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomqvist, the intrepid, independent reporter and Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander, the eponymous Girl in the title and hacker/social misfit extraordinaire.

The script Fincher used to film this movie was written by acclaimed screenwriter Steve Zaillian (who won the Oscar for Schindler's List). The story follows the plot of the book quite closely, which is an excellent decision because the book is excellent (surely 30 million people can't be wrong!)

The movie is close to three hours long but never seems slow. There is so much story to pack into the running time. There are two main threads of the tale: the first, primary one involves the central mystery: a classic locked room mystery involving the disappearance of a 16-yer old girl 40-years ago. The second one involves learning about Lisbeth's background as she negotiates a horrible situation stemming from being an adult who is also a ward of the state and has  a court-appointed guardian.

Eventually the two threads intersect and the two (Lisbeth and Mikael) work together to solve the mystery. While they are trying to solve that mystery they stumble upon  a much larger, disturbing pattern of murders of young women. It seems like they must be hunting a misogynistic serial killer and it is this feature of the book which explains why it's original Swedish title translates to "Men Who Hate Women." The two, working together, do eventually solve both the mystery of the original disappearance they intended to solve as well as the one involving the serial killer that they discovered inadvertently.

The most important development involves the evolution of Lisbeth Salander. It is following her story which makes the audience interested in the sequels, despite the well-executed (and slightly modified) conclusion to the first installment.

Only the best for my Speedos! Daniel Craig refuses to get into costume in 'dirty' gym

By Holly Thomas

Wasn't up to scratch: Daniel Craig, pictured filming in London earlier this week, is said to have complained that a Four Seasons hotel gym was too dirty for him to change in

He's the ultimate suave super spy, so naturally James Bond is used to the very best treatment.

And it appears the actor who plays him shares 007's high standards.

Daniel Craig reportedly refused to get into costume to film a swimming-pool scene in a London hotel because his surroundings were 'too dirty'.

The actor was shooting his third Bond movie Skyfall at the Four Seasons hotel.

'The gym is one of the best in London and usually very clean,' the Daily Star quoted one gym worker as saying.

'But it wasn't up to scratch for Daniel Craig.'

'He said it was 'dirty and untidy' and refused to get into costume until it was cleaned,' the source added.

In action again: This is Daniel Craig's third Bond film, and is due to come out next year

Daniel was spotted filming for the upcoming film in London earlier this week.

He has been joined by 28 Days Later star Naomie Harris for Skyfall, the 23rd film of the Bond franchise.

Naomi plays the part of Eve - a field agent who joins Bond on his quest to track down whoever is threatening the MI6.

The actress was thought to be taking on the role of Miss Moneypenny when the film was first announced, but speculation was laid to rest once her character's name was revealed.

Starring opposite: 28 Days Later actress Naomie Harris is stepping into the role of Eve

At a recent press release, Harris described Eve as 'believing she is Bond's equal, but she is really his junior.'

Another female character who Bond has issues with in the latest film is M, who will once again be played by Dame Judi Dench.

The head of MI6 sees her past come back to haunt her in this movie which results in Bond's loyalty with her being put to the test.

The film also stars Javier Bardem as the main villain - and no doubt the ultimate threat to MI6- and Ralph Fiennes is set to play a 'really interesting' character, which not much has been revealed about.

Ever the perfectionist, Daniel is as quick to level criticism at himself as he is others.

'I'm definitely not satisfied about my career. I don't know how you can be; it's the very nature of things,' he told GQ magazine.

'I'm always trying to figure it out and I'm kind of unsatisfied constantly. I always want to get it right and I don't know what the answer to it is.'

Daniel confessed that he still finds it hard to believe that he was handed the role of the iconic secret agent, and that he is 'not quite sure how' he has been such a success as Bond.

Skyfall is set to be released some time between late October and early December next year.
