Coach of the Nigerian Super Eagles Stephen Keshi has banned players from earrings while on national assaignments, as part of new measures to enforce discipline.
He told home-based players currently in camp in Abuja that wearing earrings by men is alien to African Culture and "no player is permitted here to wear them."
Some of the national players such as Joseph Yobo, Obafemi Martins, Dele Adeleye, Brown Ideye, Osaze Odemwingie, Victor Anichebe, Peter Utaka and Chibuzor Okonkwo are known to wear earrings.

Uche Jumbo Breaks Up With Ikechukwu Uche Moves Into New Posh Apartment
These are definitely not the best of times for Nollywood star actress, Uche Jombo as we gathered that her longtime boyfriend, Nigerian born International football player, Uche Ikechukwu has dumped her.
Ikechukwu has maintained a shy attitude about their relationship ever since they started dating. Months back, the news about their wedding preparations was all over town. Sources said Uche Ikechukwu proposed with a diamond engagement ring that Uche Jombo was showing off at every slightest opportunity…
But with the latest development, it seems the love these two people once shared has gone sour. We gathered that the sultry actress no longer wears the diamond engagement ring.
Close sources claimed the break-up was amicable. Ikechukwu’s friend who spoke on condition of anonymity said, you don't need a soothsayer to tell you their relationship wasn't going anywhere. Ikechukwu had no intention of getting caught up in something serious. Although at some point, he seemed really madly in love with Jombo, he added.
Stella Dimoko Korku wrote this in her Encomium magazine page:
Insiders are alleging that Uche and Ikechukwu are no longer together. According to them, the couple who have been a pair for many years in an on/off relationship, which they have refused to publicly acknowledge, have broken up due to irreconcilable differences.Anyways I hear she has stepped up big time. Feelers emanating from her end have it that she just moved into a new abode in highbrow Lekki Peninsular,Lagos.
The break up is hush hush and has been swept under the carpet so that even their close friends are not aware of it. The insiders allege 'Stella, you did a story that both of them got engaged, and you described an engagement ring which she has been parading, abi? Please check all her recent pics and notice that ring is evidently missing. Ikechukwu and his brother Kalu were spotted recently in Abuja with babes swarming their vicinity.
A source who is very close to the mathematician turned movie maker confirmed this when contacted, adding that the Abia born role interpreter shelled out about N10 million before she could commence occupation of the new house.

Two Iranian football players given the red card and suspended... after 'inappropriate' buttock squeezing goal celebration
Iran's football federation has suspended two players for the ‘inappropriate’ goal celebration of buttock squeezing.
Mohammad Nosrati appeared to briefly put his hand on Sheys Rezaei as players of the team Persepolis huddled together to celebrate a goal against Damash Gilan in a televised match on Saturday.
The pair were also reportedly fined almost £25,000 each and their actions might have caused little comment in the West where fans are used to ‘laddish’ behaviour by football stars, but it caused outrage in the Islamic republic.
Jalal Yahyazadeh, a cleric and member of parliament, called it a ‘shameless act’ and added that it had ‘upset, angered and outraged’ all sports fans.
‘What happened is absolutely not acceptable because it was a very ugly thing,’ he said, adding that the country’s sports minister should be held accountable
After the incident made headlines in the international media and with a clip available on the internet, the federation’s media committee met today and ‘demanded that elements who damaged the country’s sporting spirit be dealt with firmly’.
The federation will issue a final verdict next week. In Iran homosexuality is punishable by imprisonment, corporal punishment, or in some cases of sodomy, even execution of the accused.
A number of other things are forbidden in Iran, including spiky hair, pet dogs, Facebook, ponytails, mannequins, rap music and ties.
Football is the most popular spectator sport in Iran, although women are barred from attending matches.
And in June this year the Iranian women's football team were kicked out of a qualifying match for the Olympics after they wore Islamic head scarves for a match against Jordan.
According to governing body FIFA, they had been 'informed thoroughly' that they would not be allowed to wear hijab scarves for safety reasons.
Watch the video below...besides i think the first two players to hug also kissed...sincerely this judgement is harsh cos the next thing you hear might be that they are gonna be executed...smh

TB Joshua's Response To His Critics.
Reacting to his been blamed for Nigeria not qualifing for the African Cup of Nations, Pastor TB Joshua told Enconium Magazine:
"Nobody can claim to love Nigeria more than I do. I only tell people what God revealed to me. I can't control it. During the ministrations two Sundays ago which was televised live, I said God revealed the outcome of the encounter to me which was not favourable to Nigeria. They should check my track record. All my predictions on Nigerian football have been accurate simply because I love football and I always pray about it before the match"

Manchester United's £70k-a-week goalkeeper David de Gea 'caught shoplifting £1.19 Krispy Kreme doughnut from Tesco
Goalkeeper David de Gea might earn £70k-a-week at Manchester United, but the 20-year-old star allegedly pinched a £1.19 doughnut from Tesco.
The Spaniard is alleged to have picked up the Original Glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut and eaten it in the magazine aisle before walking towards the exit without paying, or buying anything else from the store.
It is claimed he was caught on CCTV stealing the snack from Tesco Extra in Altrincham, Greater Manchester..De Gea, who was with two Spanish friends, was apparently stopped by security staff and taken into their ‘stop and search’ room for questioning, according to a tabloid.
The security guards who monitor the CCTV watched two of them take a doughnut each out of the Krispy Kreme cabinet.
Incredibly, they then appeared to try to leave without paying – or buying anything else for that matter.’
The source added that the goalkeeper looked ‘embarrassed’ when he was taken away by security staff.
